MV Vacation Home

A 4,000 sqm vacation house on a 100-acre Seychelles plot — terraced into the hillside with courts, pool and long views through the forest.

4000 m²

Brief

Vacation home on Seychelles Island. Plot size 100 acres. Covered area 4,000 sqm (40,000 sft).

Context

The response begins with the people who will use the project and the particular conditions of Seychelles Island, Seychelles — its climate, surroundings and existing fabric.

Concept

Why it is designed this way

The response

The house follows the slope. Wings, courts and terraces step down the hillside so each level keeps forest and long views, with the pool and lawns held as outdoor rooms rather than leftover ground.

Sustainability + materiality

Designed for climate, nature and time

Passive strategies, durable materials and adaptability are treated as one lifecycle decision. The aim is comfort with less operational energy and an architecture that develops character as it ages.
