The response begins with the people who will use the project and the particular conditions of Rawalpindi, Punjab — its climate, surroundings and existing fabric.
Why it is designed this way
The new first floor is fitted as a complete house: bedrooms with timber joinery, a dressing room, a window-seat study, landing and bath. Cream panelling, dark wood and arched openings keep the rooms quiet against the existing ground floor below.

Passive strategies, durable materials and adaptability are treated as one lifecycle decision. The aim is comfort with less operational energy and an architecture that develops character as it ages.
