Why it is designed this way
The house sits as two storeys on a tight kanal: carport and court at grade, living behind screens, first floor as a colonnade of rooms. Overhangs and metal louvres keep the street elevation quiet against the neighbours.

Passive strategies, durable materials and adaptability are treated as one lifecycle decision. The aim is comfort with less operational energy and an architecture that develops character as it ages.
